Waldorf Astoria London – Admiralty Arch has opened reservations for stays inside one of London’s most recognisable landmarks. The Grade I listed arch on The Mall, opposite Buckingham Palace in St James’s, has been restored as a hotel and residences, bringing overnight guests into a building long linked with royal processions, state occasions and government use.

What Guests Will Find Inside

  • Accommodation: 114 rooms, suites and residences
  • Dining: Coreus by Clare Smyth and rooftop Café Boulud by Daniel Boulud
  • Wellness: treatment rooms, couples’ rooms, sauna, steam room, hydrotherapy pool and gym
  • Events: ballroom with a restored Murano chandelier
  • Best suited for: couples, luxury city breaks, special occasions and heritage-focused stays
  • Opening: autumn 2026

Commissioned by King Edward VII in memory of Queen Victoria, Admiralty Arch was designed by Sir Aston Webb, the architect behind the Buckingham Palace façade. The 200,000-square-foot landmark has been restored with historians, artisans and conservation specialists, adding rooms, signature suites, restaurants, wellness spaces and event areas while keeping much of its ceremonial character. Coreus will focus on British coastal produce, while rooftop Café Boulud will overlook St James’s Park and Buckingham Palace.

Its location puts St James’s Park, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, and the West End close by. The Mall address also makes galleries, theatres, royal landmarks and central London walks easier to combine in one trip, with Underground connections around Charing Cross, Westminster and Green Park. Horse Guards Parade and Whitehall are also within easy reach, adding more history-led stops without extra travel time.

Admiralty Arch has been part of London’s public image for more than a century, but not a place where visitors could stay overnight. Its conversion into a hotel gives travellers a new way to use a landmark that was previously seen mainly from the outside. It is most likely to appeal to guests who want central London, historic architecture and a stay close to the city’s royal and cultural sights.
