Wizz Air Reopens Suceava Base Opening New Direct Flights for Travelers
Wizz Air has officially resumed operations at its base in Suceava, Romania, positioning two Airbus A321neo aircraft at Ștefan cel Mare International Airport ahead of the 2025 winter season. With this step, Suceava returns to the list of Wizz Air’s eight active bases in Romania. The route network from this airport will expand to 13 destinations, with new services launching in phases. Vienna flights begin on 30 September 2025, while seven additional routes will follow starting 15 December.
The airline’s network expansion includes a number of new destinations that will be accessible directly from Suceava.The update is set to broaden travel choices for people living in northeastern Romania. The following new routes will be available from Suceava during the 2025 winter season:

- Milan Bergamo
- Venice
- Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden
- Brussels Charleroi
- Birmingham
- Larnaca
Those flying from Suceava now have easier access to a range of cultural and historical destinations across Europe. Bologna features attractions like its medieval city center towers and the historic University of Bologna. In Milan, tourists have the opportunity to see the striking Duomo di Milano and the renowned Pinacoteca di Brera gallery. Venice, served by Marco Polo Airport, draws tourists with famous sites such as Piazza San Marco and the scenic Grand Canal.
Passengers using the updated network can also explore locations with distinct regional appeal. In Larnaca, points of interest include Finikoudes Beach and the Church of Saint Lazarus. Karlsruhe serves as a starting point for visiting the Black Forest or exploring exhibitions at the ZKM Center for Art and Media. Birmingham offers attractions like Cadbury World, and the Jewellery Quarter, which is celebrated for its old workshops and architectural charm.
The reopening of the Suceava base also supports regional tourism and economic development by improving accessibility to and from northeastern Romania. As international visitors gain easier access to Bucovina’s cultural heritage sites and natural landscapes, Suceava’s role as a regional gateway strengthens.
