Thai aviation market development: Authorities announce ambitious plans
The Thai authorities have set themselves an ambitious goal of becoming a regional aviation hub by 2030. It is planned to serve more than 150 million international passengers annually.

It is planned that Thailand will enter the TOP 10 best air logistics centres in the world. In particular, the Thai government will develop Thailand's airports to return to the top 20 in the world over the next five years.
The large-scale modernization concerns the leading airports managed by Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT), namely Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Chiang Mai, Mae Fah Luang - Chiang Rai, Phuket, and Hat Yai.
This plan includes the reconstruction and expansion of existing airports, as well as the construction of new airports to increase passenger and cargo capacity. In addition, the government also plans to build large shopping malls near airports to attract tourists, as well as connect airports to the mass transit system.
The government plans to implement a programme to develop airports across the country by integrating modern technology and improving passenger services to increase efficiency, convenience, and speed of service delivery.
