Palms, pool and champagne: what the most luxurious airport in the world looks like. Photo
While we can't all enjoy the perks of traveling first class, it seems we can make our journey a little more luxurious by flying into a certain airport. The best in the world, to be precise.
Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates has been named the most luxurious airport in a study by travel insurance company AllClear, and it's easy to see why it was chosen as the best, Metro writes.
Dubai International Airport (DXB) scored 83 out of 100 in the study, receiving high praise for having over 30 different lounges for visitors to relax in.
In addition to places to relax and enjoy a glass of champagne, there is also a unique gaming lounge, a special family area, and spas where you can enjoy a massage or facial, as well as skin care treatments.
If that wasn't enough, DBX also has its five-star airport hotel, which happens to contain the GFORCE Health Club, so instead of sitting around waiting for your flight, you can work out in the gym or go for a swim in the pool.
There's also a steam room and sauna for travelers looking to pamper themselves, and you don't have to stay at the hotel to use any of these amenities.
Those who have been to the airport say that Terminal 3 is a must-see: from the palm trees inside the building to the airport's zen garden with fish ponds, it's a great space to sit and relax before boarding.
Other amenities at DBX include free airport showers, sleep and flight pods in which to take a nap during layovers, designer stores such as Chanel and Gucci, and the iconic Fortnum & Mason.
Following DBX, London's Heathrow Airport became the second most luxurious airport in the world, scoring 82 points out of 100.
This score was achieved thanks to high-end retailers such as Cartier, as well as the Caviar House and the Fortnum & Mason bar in Terminal 5, where guests can enjoy champagne and caviar.
Hamad International Airport in Qatar, Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris in France, and Sydney International Airport in Australia round out the top five.
