Named the "worst airline for short-haul routes" by Which?
According to the annual Which? survey, Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air has been named the worst airline on short-haul routes for the second year in a row.
The study, conducted in October 2023, covered 10,775 flights and evaluated aspects such as customer service, value for money, seat comfort, and food and beverage. According to the Independent, Wizz Air was most criticized for flight delays and poor customer service.
In terms of customer service, the Hungarian carrier received only one star out of five, scoring a total of 44%. This is lower than Ryanair (47%), Iberia (49%), and Vueling (53%).
Wizz Air did not receive more than two stars in any other category.
Rory Boland, travel editor at Which? magazine, said: "Airfares have skyrocketed in recent years, and the least passengers should expect for their hard-earned money is a reliable service, with friendly, easily accessible customer support when they are let down."
Wizz Air strongly disagrees with the survey results and asserts that it conducts its own surveys among customers, who are mostly satisfied with the service.
Marion Geoffroy, Managing Director of Wizz Air UK, stated: "Our own surveys show that hundreds of thousands of passengers are satisfied with the service we provide. Wizz Air's customer satisfaction is consistently improving and is much higher than what the Which? report suggests."
As previously reported by TravelWise, Wizz Air will launch an additional flight to the German city to celebrate the European Football Championship.
