More Mediterranean and Red Sea Flights Launch From Glasgow
Glasgow Airport will gain three new international routes next week as easyJet continues to expand its operations in Scotland. The airline has added a seventh aircraft to its Glasgow base, allowing it to increase capacity during the peak summer season. The investment forms part of a wider growth plan that includes new destinations and a larger schedule from Scotland, where easyJet now operates more than 100 routes across 24 countries.
The new routes scheduled to launch from Glasgow include:
- Glasgow – Pisa, Italy
- Glasgow – Malta
- Glasgow – Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt
The services will be operated with support from a newly based 186-seat Airbus A320. The aircraft becomes the seventh easyJet jet stationed in Glasgow and contributes to the airline’s biggest summer programme in Scotland to date.

Exploring easyJet's New Glasgow Destinations
Pisa becomes the latest Italian destination available from Glasgow and opens the door to one of the country's most visited regions. The city is known for its historic centre and famous landmarks, while its location also makes it a convenient starting point for exploring wider Tuscany. The route adds another southern European city break option to Glasgow's growing network and expands direct links between Scotland and Italy.
The introduction of flights to Malta and Sharm El Sheikh adds two very different holiday destinations to the airport's route map. Malta combines Mediterranean coastal scenery with centuries of history, while Sharm El Sheikh is known as a major resort destination on Egypt’s Red Sea coast. Together, the routes broaden the mix of sunshine escapes available from Glasgow, covering everything from cultural trips and island breaks to seaside holidays.
The latest additions reflect a wider expansion of leisure travel options from western Scotland. Rather than focusing on a single destination, the launch brings three distinct regions within direct reach of Glasgow: Tuscany, the Mediterranean and the Red Sea. As airlines continue to invest in Scottish airports, holidaymakers are seeing a broader range of nonstop routes appear on departure boards, particularly during the busy summer travel season.
