Recent guidance focuses on reducing onboard fire hazards and cutting down on delays caused by last-minute bag checks at airports.
Lithium batteries are classified as dangerous goods, which is why most of them must travel in carry-on luggage. Spare batteries and power banks are not allowed in checked bags under any circumstances. Devices should be intact, switched off and protected from pressure or impact.
