Jet2 Opens Early Winter Sun Sales

Jet2 has put its Winter Sun programme for 2027/28 on sale from Newcastle Airport, giving North East holidaymakers an early chance to book flights and package holidays. The release includes more than 320,000 seats across 12 destinations in Spain, the Canary Islands, Turkey, Cyprus, Malta and Portugal, with sales opening more than a year before the season begins.
Jet2 will offer up to 50 weekly outbound flights during peak periods. The schedule is led by high-frequency services to the Canary Islands and Spain, including up to 10 weekly flights to Tenerife, seven to Lanzarote and Alicante, and five to Malaga. Madeira also joins the list as an exclusive Jet2 route, with weekly services planned.
"This exciting new programme opens up the best winter sun hotspots to local holidaymakers and, as always, we have designed it in direct response to the demand for our award-winning flights and holidays so we know how popular it will be. We are not done yet, with even more exciting announcements about our Winter 27/28 programme coming soon!"
Winter 2027/28 Routes from Newcastle
The programme covers:
- Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura
- Alicante, Malaga and Majorca
- Faro and Madeira
- Antalya, Paphos and Malta
Jet2 says more details on the Winter 2027/28 programme will be announced in the coming weeks. The early release applies to both flight-only bookings and package holidays, giving customers and independent travel agents more time to plan before the season.
The launch makes more short- and medium-haul winter breaks easier to plan from the North East. The Canary Islands offer reliable winter warmth, while Alicante and Malaga keep southern Spain within reach outside the summer rush. Madeira adds Atlantic scenery and levada walks, while Antalya, Paphos, Malta and Faro broaden the choice for beaches, historic towns and off-season sightseeing.
The early launch is useful for people who already know they want winter sun but need time to compare dates, prices and package options. Newcastle also gets a fuller winter board, with beach resorts, island breaks and city-friendly destinations in one release. For North East holidaymakers, that cuts down the need to start the search with Manchester, Leeds Bradford or other larger airports.
