From London to Rome in just a few hours: ITA Airways delights tourists with new flights
Italy's national airline, ITA Airways, has confirmed the launch of new routes from the UK's top airport to a popular vacation destination. Tourists will now be able to fly from London City to Rome Fiumicino.
The route is expected to commence later this year, with flights operated by Airbus A220-100 aircraft. The carrier will operate twelve flights a week, as reported by The Sun.
Travelers can depart to experience the warm Italian climate at 11:00 and return to the city at 14:30. Simultaneously, the plane will depart from Fiumicino airport at 8:50 am and arrive in London at 10:25 am.
The solar route is set to start operating on April 1, 2024, just before the summer rush begins. According to the Sun Online Travel agency, economy class tickets, including hand luggage, checked baggage, and seat reservations, start at £143 per person one way.
These are not the only routes to Italy. The same carrier will add an additional flight from Milan Linate to London. The flights will commence on April 10, 2024, making ITA Airways operate 31 flights between the two cities.
Other airlines offering flights from the UK to Italy
The initial airline Aeroitalia, which will operate a new route between London Southend Airport and Milan Bergamo. There will be 6 daily flights from Milan, departing at 9 am and arriving in Southend at 9:45 am.
The new route is scheduled to start on March 25, 2024, with one-way ticket prices starting at 79.99 euros (£68.95).
Ryanair, one of the largest low-cost airlines, will also add more flights to 30 routes from several UK airports, including Stansted, Luton, and Gatwick.
Furthermore, British Airways announced the resumption of flights for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic. Thus, it will now be possible to fly from London Airport to three new destinations. Ticket prices start at £36.
