Delta Elevates Flight Experience with Upgraded Boeing 737-800 Interiors and Expanded A350-900 Delta One Cabin
Delta Air Lines is set to enhance the in-flight experience for its passengers with the introduction of upgraded First Class seats on select Boeing 737-800 aircraft and the expansion of the Delta One cabin on its Airbus A350-900 fleet. This initiative reflects Delta's commitment to providing a premium travel experience, underlined by the rollout of its newest First Class seat on refreshed Boeing 737-800s starting this month.
The latest First Class seats, first introduced on Delta’s A321neo aircraft in 2022, offer passengers increased privacy, additional storage space for personal items, a sturdier tray table, and improved comfort. Mauricio Parise, Vice President of Brand Experience at Delta, emphasized the airline's dedication to a consistent and elevated customer experience, highlighting the in-flight enhancements as a key aspect of their strategy.
Beyond the First Class upgrade, Delta will also revamp the Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin sections on select Boeing 737-800s. New 10-inch Panasonic seatback screens will be installed, offering access to over 1,000 hours of premium entertainment through Delta Studio. The aircraft will also feature upgraded lavatories with touchless functionalities and enhanced fuel efficiency, thanks to the installation of split-scimitar winglets.
This interior refresh is part of Delta's broader initiative to elevate the on-board experience, which has seen the airline undertake extensive cabin refurbishments of its Boeing 767-400ER and other widebody aircraft, including the introduction of Delta Premium Select cabins.
In response to increasing demand for premium travel experiences, Delta is expanding its Delta One cabin on Airbus A350-900s. The airline plans to add eight more of its award-winning lie-flat suites to these long-haul jets. The updated A350-900 configuration will feature 40 Delta One Suites, 40 Delta Premium Select seats, 36 extra-legroom seats in Delta Comfort+, and 159 Main Cabin seats. The first modified A350-900 with this new layout is expected to enter service in Summer 2024.
Delta's latest efforts to enhance its aircraft interiors and expand premium seating options align with its ongoing commitment to providing a best-in-class suite of products for its customers, ensuring a superior travel experience across its fleet.
