Available again: the Blue Lagoon has reopened in Iceland
The Blue Lagoon was closed for several weeks after the volcanic eruption. The doors of the legendary spa center were reopened in early January of this year. From now on, visitors can once again soak in the milky white waters and relax in the midst of nature.
The pools, spa, café, retail store, and Lava restaurant first reopened on Saturday, January 6, followed by the Silica Hotel and Retreat Hotel on January 9, and finally, the Michelin-starred Moss restaurant on Wednesday, January 10. The Blue Lagoon reported this to the editorial board of Travel + Leisure magazine.
"We are once again pleased to welcome our employees and guests to the Blue Lagoon, and we are also pleased to reopen the doors of our hotels. We are very grateful to our staff who have worked tirelessly to reopen our properties. We want to continue to create moments of joy for each of our guests", said Helga Arnadottir, Chief Sales Officer of Blue Lagoon.
As a reminder, the Blue Lagoon was closed due to the volcanic eruption. Now the spa management has taken care of this in advance and built some kind of protective barriers to prevent the lava flow in case of a second eruption.
