Christmas is the best time to enjoy delicious street food, take a stroll to holiday songs, and purchase unique gifts at fairs and festivals. Every year, Ireland organizes numerous festive events that capture the attention of both locals and visitors.

Tourists selecting destinations for a Christmas trip may face a challenging decision. Betway has compiled a list of the most popular cities for Christmas holidays based on the number of hashtags each location has collected on Instagram, as well as reviews on Google and Tripadvisor, as reported by IrishCentral.

The absolute leader was Wonderlights in Donegal in the northwest of Ireland. The opening is scheduled for November 25, meaning that the vibrant location can be visited any day throughout the month.

The second place was taken by the Wild Arctic Experience in Donegal. The celebration includes a light show and real animals, including arctic foxes, reindeer, and snowy owls. Not only children but also adults will be able to immerse themselves in the fairy tale.

The next most popular place to celebrate Christmas is a large-scale festival in Killarney. Visitors can enjoy a music show, parades, and gastronomic events.

Those wishing to visit Dublin Castle in winter can explore the open-air market in the courtyard. This location took the fourth place in the ranking.

The Cork fair, featuring a Ferris wheel and carousel, rounds out the top five. Cork is the second-largest city in Ireland, located in the southwest of the country, 253 km from Dublin.
