On July 1, Southwest Airlines hosted a unique "Fin Flight" to commemorate its 11th year of partnership with Discovery Channel's Shark Week. The festivities kicked off at Dallas Love Field Airport with a Shark trivia game, where passengers were given beach balls and sunglasses. The celebration continued onboard a flight to Los Angeles, where passengers received fin hats and eye masks as souvenirs.

The onboard experience was enhanced by the presence of Chompie, the official Shark Week mascot, who posed for photos and joined the flight to LAX. Passengers aged 21 and over were treated to a complimentary Shark Week Special drink, complete with a gummy shark garnish. Southwest employees, dressed in co-branded Shark Week t-shirts, greeted passengers as they landed in Los Angeles.

In addition to this special flight, Southwest Airlines announced another surprise "Fin Flight" during Shark Week, which begins on Sunday, July 7. This ongoing celebration allows customers to enjoy exclusive Shark Week inflight content throughout July.

Starting July 1, passengers can access the "Shark Week" On Demand TV series via Southwest's Inflight Entertainment Portal. This includes free episodes and a never-before-seen episode of "Sharktopia," available ahead of its network premiere on July 7. The collaboration between Southwest Airlines and Discovery Channel continues to bring excitement and unique experiences to travelers, making this summer's Shark Week celebrations truly unforgettable.
