ScotRail Boosts Late-Night Services to Ease Travel During Edinburgh Festivals

Starting from 1 August, ScotRail will introduce additional carriages and late-night train services throughout August to handle the higher passenger demand during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Edinburgh International Festival. By boosting capacity on key routes, these changes help thousands of travelers get in and out of the city more easily during the cultural season.

Late-night train services include:

• Daily departures between Edinburgh Waverley and Glasgow Queen Street at 00:03 and 00:33 via Falkirk High.
• Additional Friday and Saturday trains at 23:30 via Falkirk High and 00:12 via Bathgate.
• Late Friday trains to Glenrothes with Thornton at 23:59 and to Dundee at 23:56.
• A Sunday late service to North Berwick at 23:24.
• Special overnight trains from North Berwick to Edinburgh Waverley running from 1 to 10 August to support Fringe by the Sea attendees.
