In a significant move, Meliá Hotels International, the renowned Spanish hotel group, is set to include the Grand Luang Prabang into its esteemed collection of hotels. This marks a pivotal moment as the Grand Luang Prabang becomes the premier property in Laos to join Meliá Hotels International's expanding network in the region.

Steeped in history, the Grand Luang Prabang holds a prestigious past as the former residence of a Lao prince, lending it a unique narrative that perfectly aligns with the essence of a Meliá Collection hotel. Nestled in the UNESCO World Heritage destination of Luang Prabang, the property boasts a captivating blend of culture and architecture, making it a sought-after destination for travelers worldwide.

Situated amidst lush landscapes along the banks of the Mekong River, the Grand Luang Prabang comprises a total of 75 rooms spread across eight distinct buildings, including a historic palace dating back to 1920. From its elevated position atop a six-hectare bluff, guests can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the picturesque river, especially during the breathtaking sunsets.

Formerly known as Xiengkeo Palace, the property reflects a blend of French colonial-style architecture infused with traditional Laotian influences. Each guest room features charming balconies overlooking meticulously manicured gardens and serene lotus ponds, exuding an air of tranquility and elegance. With its classic wooden furnishings and timeless decor, the hotel seamlessly combines heritage with modern comforts.

As part of Meliá's commitment to enhancing guest experiences, the Grand Luang Prabang will undergo an extensive renovation and refurbishment while remaining fully operational. This strategic venture builds upon Meliá Hotels International's longstanding presence in Asia, which began with the opening of Meliá Bali in the 1980s. With a portfolio spanning across Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, China, and now Laos, Meliá Hotels International continues to redefine luxury hospitality in the region.
