LOT Opens Direct Warsaw-Malaga Route
LOT Polish Airlines has introduced a new link between Warsaw and Malaga, with the first flight departing on 15 January 2026. The service begins with three to four weekly rotations during the first month before shifting to six weekly flights in late February, operating daily except Tuesdays. Flight time is around four hours, creating a direct connection between the Polish capital and one of Spain’s most visited coastal cities in Andalusia.
The timetable places outbound services around mid-morning and return flights in the afternoon, with slight adjustments planned for the summer season. LOT is using the connection to tap into the steady demand for southern Spain, describing Malaga as a destination that pairs seaside breaks with cultural attractions. The airline also highlights interest from business and tech sectors due to ongoing investment activity in Andalusia.

The launch of direct flights from Warsaw to Malaga opens up one of Southern Europe’s most attractive regions to our passengers. Malaga and the entire Costa del Sol region boast a unique blend of rich cultural heritage, modern urban infrastructure, and world-class tourist facilities - from historical monuments and museums to Mediterranean cuisine and renowned resorts. At the same time, the region is developing dynamically as a business and technology hub, attracting both investors and international companies.
For those who travel, Malaga sits on the Costa del Sol and offers museums, Moorish-style palaces, a Renaissance cathedral, and waterfront promenades. Beyond the city, the region has become a draw for golf, with around 100 registered courses listed by the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation. The coast mixes resorts with access to national parks, while the nearby La Farola lighthouse and Muelle Uno harbour area remain busy through most seasons.
The new route also puts wider Andalusia within easier reach. Seville’s Plaza de España, Córdoba’s Patio Festival in May, and Marbella’s beaches are common targets for day trips or short stays. Gibraltar adds a different twist with its British identity and views across the strait towards North Africa, making it a notable detour for those touring the region by road or organised excursion.
LOT’s winter launch hints at a push to diversify its southern European network beyond familiar summer links. For Polish travellers and expatriates alike, direct flights remove the need for connections through larger hubs and bring Andalusia onto the year-round map. If frequencies remain stable into the warmer months, Malaga may cement its place as one of the more practical options for escaping northern winters or planning longer coastal breaks.
