Sardinia, Italy, is inviting young hikers under 35 to explore its scenic trails with an enticing offer: complete a 500-kilometer hike and receive three nights of free accommodation. This initiative, named "Leg’s go in Cammino," aims to promote the historic Santa Barbara mining trail, a 16-stage route showcasing cliffs, caves, forests, beaches, waterfalls, and ancient sites.

This offer, valid from September 15 to the end of the year, encourages adventurers to plan their journey soon. The hiking trail, designed to take about a month to complete, is perfect for those seeking a mix of natural beauty and historical exploration.

Preparation for these hikes is crucial. Hikers should bring essential items such as a lightweight backpack, a sleeping bag, appropriate clothing for varying weather conditions, sturdy hiking boots, and enough food and water supplies. Other important items include a map, first aid kit, torch, insect repellent, sun protection, and a thermal water bottle. Proper planning and packing ensure a safe and enjoyable hiking experience.

The Santa Barbara trail is a 500-kilometer route, segmented into 16 stages, taking roughly a month to finish. Hikers will encounter diverse scenery, from rugged cliffs and serene beaches to lush forests and ancient historical sites. The free accommodation vouchers are available from mid-September to the year's end, making it an excellent opportunity for young adventurers to explore Sardinia's natural and cultural heritage.

For those with limited time, the new seven-day Cammino Retico trail in the Dolomites offers a shorter yet equally rewarding hiking experience. This 170-kilometer circular route links 10 villages and highlights the picturesque beauty of the Dolomites, providing a week-long immersion in Italy's scenic wonders.

Hikers can enjoy breathtaking views, rich history, and cultural experiences along these trails. Whether choosing the extended adventure of the Santa Barbara trail or the week-long Cammino Retico, both routes promise unforgettable journeys through Italy's most beautiful landscapes.
