A British Airways flight to Las Vegas was delayed for more than three hours after a disruptive passenger was removed at Heathrow. Video of the incident, shared by DJ Bou, showed a cabin crew member firmly ordering the man to remain seated as he appeared to argue with other passengers. Her response quickly went viral, drawing widespread praise online for how she handled the confrontation.

What Happened on BA275

  • Airline: British Airways
  • Flight: BA275
  • Route: London Heathrow to Las Vegas
  • Incident date: 6 August 2026
  • Scheduled departure: 5.15pm
  • Actual departure: Around 8.30pm
  • Police called: Around 5.30pm
  • Passenger removed: Yes
  • Charges: Being drunk on an aircraft and disobeying the captain’s orders

Bou said the disturbance could be heard even from the higher-class section where he was sitting, while his tour manager recorded the confrontation. The aircraft later returned to the terminal, allowing Metropolitan Police officers to board and remove the passenger. British Airways said disruptive or abusive behaviour is not tolerated onboard and stressed that protecting customers and crew remains its highest priority.

Passengers caught in an incident like this are best advised to stay seated, follow cabin crew instructions and avoid becoming involved in the confrontation. If the disruption leads to a lengthy delay, they should check the airline’s updates and ask what assistance is available. Under UK261, food, drinks and accommodation may be required once delay thresholds are reached, while any compensation depends on what caused the disruption.

The incident is a reminder that serious onboard disruption can affect far more people than those directly involved. One passenger’s behaviour delayed an international flight by several hours and required police intervention before departure. Cabin crew are trained for situations like this, but travellers should also expect airlines to take firm action when behaviour threatens safety, particularly where alcohol or refusal to follow crew instructions is involved.
