A former Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent, Sharon Jean Devine, has been indicted in federal court for her involvement in bomb hoaxes at Tulsa International Airport. On March 5th and March 23rd, Devine allegedly left notes in a restroom on the landside of the airport, claiming there was a bomb present.

The bomb threats were immediately addressed by the Tulsa International Airport Police, who secured the area and confirmed there was no actual threat. Following their investigation, the Tulsa FBI office took over and continued to investigate the incidents.

Special Agent Jason Kaplan, in charge of the FBI's Oklahoma City Field Office, emphasized the importance of following protocols to ensure public safety whenever a threat is made. He stated that bomb hoaxes pose a significant threat to the community and are not tolerated. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Oklahoma is prosecuting Devine, with Assistant US Attorney Nathan E. Michel leading the case. US Attorney Clint Johnson reiterated that his office has zero tolerance for any threats of violence.

This incident is not isolated, as other TSA agents have also faced legal issues recently. In February, TSA agent Edmundo Dasilva was arrested in Florida for his involvement in a child sex operation sting. Dasilva was caught by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office after attempting to meet an undercover detective posing as the father of a child. He was found with two condoms and planned to pay $60 for the encounter.

Additionally, in December, Assistant Federal Security Director Maxine McManaman was arrested in Atlanta by Customs and Border Protection for her alleged involvement in forging signatures to transfer property ownership. McManaman and an accomplice, Delroy Chambers Sr., were charged with multiple counts of forgery and exploitation of an elderly or disabled adult.

These incidents highlight the severe consequences of illegal activities and the importance of maintaining integrity within security agencies.
