Finnair Unveils Expanded Lounge at Helsinki Airport

Finnair, the flag carrier of Finland, has officially opened its new lounge in the Schengen departures area of Helsinki Airport. This new lounge replaces the previous one and features an exclusive area for top-tier frequent flyers, enhancing the overall travel experience.

The lounge is designed with separate areas for work, relaxation, and dining, providing a versatile space for travelers. The spacious seating area offers views of the runway and gates, and includes a co-working space with individual soundproof pods. A new exclusive Platinum Corner caters specifically to elite status members. The lounge, reflecting Finnair’s Nordic design aesthetic, can now accommodate up to 440 customers, an increase of 150 seats from the previous lounge.

Pasi Kuusisto, Finnair's General Manager of North America, emphasized the benefits for travelers connecting through Finnair's extensive European network. He highlighted the lounge's inspiration from Nordic design and its calming color scheme, providing a space for relaxation and productivity before flights.

The Schengen lounge is conveniently located on the third floor near Gate 21, easily accessible by elevator or escalator. It features touchless entry gates and a staffed reception desk. Access is complimentary for business class passengers, Finnair Plus Platinum Lumo, Platinum, or Gold members, and oneworld Alliance Emerald or Sapphire status holders on Finnair-marketed flights. Other passengers can purchase access through the Finnair app or Manage Booking.

The lounge's design captures the essence of the Nordics with wooden textures and warm colors, featuring locally sourced furniture from renowned Nordic designers. The relaxation space offers various seating configurations, including egg-shaped individual chairs and couches for larger groups. A dining area provides menus inspired by Nordic heritage, featuring locally sourced ingredients.

For busy professionals, the lounge includes solo workstations and soundproof telephone-booth-style desks for private calls and meetings. The exclusive Platinum Corner offers a quiet space with options for work or relaxation, reserved for Finnair Plus Platinum and Platinum Lumo members, and oneworld Emerald members.

Finnair's new Schengen lounge, based on customer feedback, offers enhanced space and comfort for travelers within the Schengen area of Helsinki Airport. This includes those connecting from the US and traveling to various destinations in Europe, Finnish Lapland, and the wider Nordic and Baltic regions.
