New Halifax–Copenhagen Route Expands Scandinavia–Canada Connections

WestJet and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) have strengthened their partnership by extending codeshare options linked to a new seasonal route between Halifax and Copenhagen. The airlines say the updated agreement allows passengers on both sides of the Atlantic to book connecting journeys across Scandinavia and Canada under a single reservation. The move follows another recent expansion of cooperation between the two carriers earlier this year.

The new arrangement allows WestJet customers to connect through Copenhagen to destinations across Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. Travellers can book a single ticket covering the full journey, with baggage transferred to the final destination and loyalty points collected within the WestJet Rewards programme. The option is expected to simplify travel planning, particularly for passengers starting their journey in Atlantic Canada.

SAS has also added its SK flight code to WestJet’s seasonal service between Halifax and Copenhagen, opening access to Atlantic Canada through SAS’s wider European network. The flight operates four times per week during the summer season and complements existing transatlantic partnerships. Previous cooperation already included connections through WestJet services linking Calgary with Paris and London, extending the reach of both airlines’ networks.
