In Thailand, the police organized a special operation against a "gang" of monkeys
In the Thai city of Lopburi, located 150 kilometers from Bangkok, whole gangs of macaques are "wielding" their weapons.
They fight with each other, damage property, steal food and various items from local vendors and tourists, and sometimes even show aggression. To restore order, the city's police armed themselves with slingshots to scare away the macaques, the Daily Mail reports.
Thus, the local police anti-monkey unit organized a special operation against them. They have already managed to capture 23 aggressive macaques that have been terrorizing citizens for several years. In particular, they managed to capture the alpha male of one of the packs, who was nicknamed Ai Krao among the residents.
Some of the monkeys raised a loud cry, calling their relatives for help. They rushed to the cages, trying to free the trapped monkeys, but the police have so far been able to repel these attacks.
But despite the danger, locals are eager to keep the monkeys in the city, as they attract tourists from all over the world.
As TravelWise reported, in Brazil, an Airbnb host warned a guest about "banana thieves" (monkeys) opening windows and refrigerators.
