New Tourist Cabins Open in the Scottish Highlands

Two new modern timber cabins, Sky House and Hill House, have opened in the Wester Ross region of the Scottish Highlands. Located with views of Eilean Donan Castle and three lochs—Loch Duich, Loch Alsh, and Loch Long—these cabins provide guests with panoramic vistas.

The cabins are designed to maximize immersion in the natural beauty of the area. Sky House is intended for couples, while Hill House can accommodate up to four guests. Large floor-to-ceiling windows offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape, and uniquely positioned bathtubs allow guests to observe the mountain scenery while bathing.

The interior design of the cabins reflects a blend of Scandinavian and Scottish elements. Natural materials such as wood, wool, marble, and travertine create an atmosphere that harmonizes with the surrounding nature.

Each cabin features local artisans' work, including wool rugs made from the fur of rare seaweed-eating sheep and cushions inspired by basalt formations. The furniture includes Scandinavian elements like wood-burning stoves and leather chairs.

The fully equipped kitchens are stocked with local produce, including Scottish cheese, milk, butter, chocolate, and bread. Travelers can request a seven-course Scottish dinner prepared by local chef Verity Hurding or enjoy freshly caught langoustines delivered by a local fisherman.

The 57 Nord cabins serve as an excellent starting point for hikes around the Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye and exploring the historic grounds of Eilean Donan Castle. Each cabin has a detailed book with recommendations for local activities and favorite spots. These new cabins offer tourists a comfortable and picturesque retreat in the Scottish Highlands.
