After a break of more than two years, Jetstar Asia has resumed its flights between Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) and Clark International Airport (CRK) in the Philippines. This route had been suspended since March 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A Gap of 2 Years to Clark

Jetstar Asia, based in Singapore, has faced challenging times during the extended lockdowns in Asia. However, the airline has gradually emerged from this period, resuming and launching new routes to destinations like Krabi in Thailand, Broome in Australia, Wuxi City in China, and Okinawa and Osaka in Japan. The resumption of the Clark route marks another step in its recovery.

On the morning of the resumption, Jetstar Asia flight 3K775 departed from Singapore Changi at 08:08, operated by a 2011 Airbus A320-200, registration 9V-JSN. The flight landed at Clark International at 11:34 after a 3-hour and 25-minute journey. The return flight, 3K776, was scheduled to depart at 12:00 and arrive back in Singapore at 15:50.

Jetstar Asia's Chief Operating Officer Geoffrey Lui emphasized the significance of this route, stating, "Clark serves as an important hub for both business and leisure travelers, and we're excited to offer more travel options for our customers. With so many reasons to visit Clark, our crew and our passengers have been looking forward to our return to this popular destination, so it's great to add Clark back to our network."

Clark International Airport

Clark International Airport is located approximately 60 miles northwest of Manila within the Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone. Formerly known as Diosdado Macapagal International Airport, it was renamed after the former American Clark Air Base, which was the largest overseas base of the US Air Force until its closure in 1991.

90,000 Extra Seats

Initially, Jetstar Asia will operate four return services weekly on Thursday, Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday, increasing to five flights per week from October 18 with the addition of a Friday service. The resumed route between Singapore and Clark will offer more than 90,000 low-fare seats next year.

Starting from today, flights will depart Singapore at 07:40 on Thursday and Sunday, and at 17:40 on Monday and 17:10 on Wednesday, arriving in Clark at 11:20, 21:30, and 21:00, respectively. The return flights will depart Clark at 12:00 on Thursday and Sunday, at 22:10 on Monday, and at 21:40 on Wednesday, arriving in Singapore at 15:50, 02:00 (+1), and 01:30 (+1). From October 18, an additional flight will operate on Friday morning, departing Singapore at 07:40 and returning from Clark at 12:00, arriving back in Singapore at 15:50, with the other timings remaining unchanged.

Jetstar Asia's fleet of ten Airbus A320-200s will continue to serve various regional destinations, including Bali Denpasar, Jakarta, Manila, Phuket, and Osaka, in addition to the newly resumed Clark route.
