Gloucestershire Competes to Host International Pride Event 2027

Gloucestershire has confidently launched its campaign to host the International Pride Event 2027, aiming to boost the regional economy by approximately £35 million. Renowned for staging prominent events such as the Cheltenham Horse Races and Jazz Celebrations, the area is a robust contender against metropolitan counterparts such as cities in Italy, Lithuania, and Spain. This candidacy stresses the crucial role of representing LGBTQ+ communities beyond major urban centers.

 

Should Gloucestershire secure the hosting rights for the International Pride Event, it is planned to span two weeks with a grand climax anticipated in a local public park, drawing an audience of around 50,000. Civic leaders and governmental figures are endorsing this proposal, ensuring the availability of strategic venues for the event's activities. The determination of the hosting city is scheduled to be declared in late 2024, during the chief conference of the European Pride Organization.

 

For those exploring comparable LGBTQ+ welcoming locales, the southern coast of the UK presents a notable setting known for its hospitable culture and celebrated pride parade. Another appealing destination is the Dutch capital, which captivates visitors with its traditional waterways and notable aquatic parade during its pride festivities.
