Delta Air Lines has announced the extension of its complimentary Wi-Fi program to international flights. Passengers can now access free internet during flights on all the airline's routes by logging in through their Delta SkyMiles account.

With this development, Delta becomes the first major U.S. airline to offer free Wi-Fi on both domestic and international routes, marking a significant step in the industry’s approach to in-flight connectivity.

The airline employs advanced Ka-Band satellite technology from Viasat to deliver reliable internet service. This rollout is being done in phases, with the goal of equipping the entire fleet by 2025. Delta has also introduced a new platform, Delta Sync, which will provide additional services and content to passengers later this year.

To ensure a stable and efficient Wi-Fi connection on Delta flights, it’s advisable to use the service for activities that require less bandwidth, such as browsing the web or sending messages via apps like WhatsApp or iMessage. Streaming videos or downloading large files may lead to slower speeds due to bandwidth limitations shared among passengers. Additionally, connecting your device to the Wi-Fi network as soon as the plane reaches cruising altitude can help avoid potential slowdowns later during the flight when more passengers are connected

As Delta continues to expand its free Wi-Fi offering to all international routes, the airline sets a new standard for in-flight connectivity. Passengers can look forward to staying connected throughout their journey, whether for work or leisure, as Delta rolls out these advancements across its global fleet. With further improvements on the horizon, including the launch of the Delta Sync platform, Delta is clearly focused on enhancing the travel experience by keeping passengers connected wherever they fly.
