In recent years, the Vietnamese airline VietJet has gained widespread recognition not only for its ultra-budget flights but also for its unconventional marketing campaigns. Since its inception, the company has been actively expanding its routes, covering both domestic destinations and international flights across Asian countries. But is VietJet really worth all the discussions, and what can travelers expect on board?

On domestic flights, VietJet offers three classes: Eco, Deluxe, and Sky Boss. On the flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang, choosing Deluxe provided additional benefits, although the check-in process proved to be more complicated due to local name requirements. The seats on the A320 were reasonably comfortable for a short flight, despite the limited legroom.

Marketing and Discussions

A unique feature of VietJet is its focus on the appearance of flight attendants. The airline has sparked numerous discussions with its provocative marketing campaigns, featuring bikini-clad models to promote its flights. While this approach has received mixed reactions, it’s undeniable that such campaigns have brought VietJet significant global attention.

However, it’s worth noting that the in-flight experience on VietJet differs from the flashy marketing. Passengers can expect standard service without any added focus on the crew’s appearance, though the airline continues to promote this image through its ongoing campaigns.

Onboard Service

On short domestic flights, passengers are offered paid meals with a modest selection. Sky Boss passengers have meals included in the fare, though the quality of the food, as seen in the menu photos, raises doubts. VietJet also actively promotes its branded merchandise and advertises new long-haul flights, including routes to India.

Overall, VietJet offers decent service for its price, particularly on short routes within Vietnam. Despite criticism of its marketing tactics, the airline successfully attracts customers with low fares and a wide selection of flights. For those seeking affordable air travel, VietJet could be a good choice, as long as you're willing to compromise on comfort and service.
