Transdev Sweden Enhances Travel Experience with Mälartåg Rail Network Launch

On June 16, Transdev Sweden began operating the Mälartåg regional rail lines in the Stockholm-Mälardalen area, bringing significant improvements to the travel experience for regional commuters and tourists alike. With the addition of 700 new employees, Transdev is committed to ensuring seamless, reliable service for all passengers.

Careful planning and collaboration with the previous operator and the Mälardalstrafik mobility authority minimized disruptions during the transition. This smooth handover guarantees that travelers will continue to enjoy efficient and dependable rail services.

Taking over a complex rail system and managing a large fleet of vehicles in a short time frame is a notable achievement. This milestone marks the beginning of Transdev's ongoing efforts to enhance the travel experience for Mälartåg passengers.

The Mälartåg network covers five lines, stretching 1,060 kilometers and serving 44 stations. Annually, it accommodates around 12.5 million passengers, making it a vital part of the region's transport infrastructure. This extensive network ensures that tourists can easily explore the scenic beauty and cultural landmarks of the Stockholm-Mälardalen area.
