Top 3 destinations to visit in Spanish Andalusia in 2024

Conde Nast Traveler has published the best destinations in Spain in 2024.
The list includes three cities in Andalusia. Theolivepress.es also reported about the cities of Portugal.
Andalusia is well known for its picturesque white houses, nature and traditional cuisine, so it is not surprising that the elite travel magazine Conde Nast Traveler has highlighted three cities in the region to visit in 2024.

Aracena y Picos de Aroche, Huelva
Aracena is a rural escape destination in Northern Huelva. The fact that Aracena has the highest rainfall in Spain shouldn't deter you from visiting. If not for the rain, this area would not have lush greenery. Luxury perfumers come from all over the world to source their fragrances from the trails of Araucena. Sustainable tourism champions can explore the region's numerous mountain trails.
Aracena is ideal for exploring the wonders of nature with the impressive Gruta de las Maravillas caves and bird watching opportunities. Nearby Alájar has an amazing cave system and breathtaking miradors from Peña de Arias Montano.
Meanwhile, the Castillo de Aracena and Iglesia Prior de Nuestra Señora del Mayor Dolor will transport you back in time with their wide arches, Arabian features and spectacular views. Aracena is known as the "birthplace of Iberian ham" and has a museum dedicated to the delicacy. To get a taste of fresh Andalusian cuisine, head to Meson Arrieros, Mesón el Roble or Fina Alfoliz. If you're staying overnight, don't miss Finca la Fronda or La Posada San Marcos. Both, which are committed to sustainable tourism, have received the European Union's eco-label.

Marbella, Malaga
An enviable climate, unbridled gastronomy and some of the best hotels in the world to come. Marbella has always attracted the elite. Once a favourite vacation spot for millionaires and movie stars, it is now becoming popular with international tourists.
It's a pleasure to explore the cobblestone streets lined with flowers at any time of year. Boho shops, tapas bars, and restaurants abound. Visitors can enjoy a beer and people-watching in the Casco Antiguo or see a stunning sunset in the port.
The chic Marbella Club and Puente Romano Beach Resort are famous for their luxury and hedonism. Finca Cortesin in nearby Casares offers comfort and tranquility in one of the famous white cities of Andalusia. Conde Nast continues to focus on the hotel offerings in the area, recommending Don Carlos Hotel & Spa, Don Pepe Gran Meliá, Boho Club, Hard Rock Marbella and Anantara Villa Padierna Benahavis Marbella Resort.
Granada, Sierra Nevada
A longtime favourite of tourists, Granada returns to the Conde Nast list this year in honour of the beauty and history that have captivated many travellers. According to the magazine, "No one leaves Granada emotionally unscathed after walking its neighbourhoods, exploring its streets, and observing life from its perspective."
Tourists should visit the symbolic Alhambra. The city is home to a dramatic cathedral, charming miradors, and neighbourhoods that will transport you back in time. Albaicin, like Alhambra, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can see a beautiful view of the fortress while listening to a soft Spanish guitar.
Visitors can get lost in the winding streets of Sacramonte, passing through Calle Elvira and Caldereria Nueva. The area also recently updated its luxury offering for travellers with the opening of the five-star Seda Club Hotel and the Michelin-starred La Finca restaurant.
