Snow is expected in London: the Met Office has issued a yellow warning
On January 8, there may be precipitation and ice in London. The Met Office has issued a yellow warning so that city residents can be prepared for possible difficulties on the roads.
According to MyLondon, citing the BBC weather agency, heavy snowfall is predicted in some southern parts of London.
In most areas, precipitation is expected to fall before lunchtime, while in Sundersted and Kenley snow is forecast to fall all day until 19:00.
While the heaviest precipitation looks set to hit the south of the capital, snow can also be expected in the north to Dalwich and Eltham.
The Met Office predicts that light snowfall will also fall as far west as Morden and Sutton.
Although the drop in temperature could lead to icy conditions, forecasters do not expect the snowfall to lead to white-outs in London. Most likely, the snow will melt immediately, as the temperature will remain above 0 during the day.
A Met Office spokesman said: "Keep yourself and your family safe when there is ice or light snow. Plan to leave the house at least five minutes earlier than usual."
