New Village Hopper Service VH1: A Boost for Travelers

Starting Monday, July 29, the Village Hopper service VH1, operated by Cogenhoe & Whiston Parish Council, will replace the W8 bus service, thanks to North Northamptonshire Council's initiative. This new service promises enhanced travel options for both locals and visitors, ensuring seamless connections across the region.
Travelers will benefit from direct routes between picturesque villages like Wollaston, Bozeat, Easton Maudit, and Grendon to major hubs including Northampton, Wellingborough, and popular leisure destinations such as Stanwick Lakes and Rushden Lakes. This service aims to facilitate convenient travel for work, shopping, and leisure, offering a reliable schedule from 7:30 am to 6 pm, Monday to Saturday.
The introduction of the VH1 minibus means that travelers can now enjoy uninterrupted journeys, with ticket purchases available on the bus and valid concessionary bus passes accepted. Additionally, the VH1 service participates in the government’s fare scheme, capping bus fares at £2 until the end of December 2024. This makes it an affordable option for exploring the region.
For adventurers, the new service provides easy access to attractions like the Nene Way and Stanwick Lakes, promoting local tourism and making it easier for visitors to explore the scenic beauty of North Northamptonshire. The expanded routes and reliable schedule ensure that travelers can make the most of their trips without worrying about transportation issues.
The VH1 bus service will run multiple times a day with a detailed timetable. Key departure times from Wollaston include 7:35 am, 9:50 am, 12:10 pm, 2:15 pm, and 4:20 pm, with return trips from Northampton at 8:55 am, 11:10 am, 1:30 pm, 3:30 pm, and 5:30 pm. This schedule ensures convenient and regular service throughout the day, making it easy for travelers to plan their journeys.
Residents can find links to bus operator timetables on the NNC website, including the new VH1 timetable effective from Monday, July 29. Travelers can look forward to improved and affordable travel experiences in North Northamptonshire.
