Check everything in advance
Make sure you arrive at MIA at least three hours before your flight to allow enough time to park, check in, and go through security.
Use your airline's online check-in before arriving at the airport.
In the event of a flight delay, be patient with airline staff as they will try to reschedule the flight, and stay in touch with your airline for flight status.
Access updated flight information via the MIA online platform and mobile app.
TSA screening
Pack essential items such as medicines, travel documents, chargers, and a change of clothes in your carry-on bag so you can easily access them in case of a flight delay.
Make it easier to pass through TSA checkpoints by wearing shoes that are easy to remove, following the 3-1-1 rule for liquids and gels in carry-on luggage, and refraining from carrying weapons-like objects or prohibited items. Additional TSA guidelines can be found on their website.
Stay up to date on your flight's wait times at checkpoints with real-time online updates from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Parking
Take advantage of half-price parking in the remote MIA economy lot or use the valet service conveniently located across from the MIA check-in area at gates 2 and 20 in the Dolphin and Flamingo garages.
Nonprofit users expecting travelers may use the MIA Cell Phone Parking Garage, which offers 60 free parking spaces and is accessible from LeJeune Road off of NW 31st Street.
Hall D
While the Skytrain in Hall D is out of service until the end of the month, the trolley operates from 7:30 am to 9 pm with ten boarding stations in Hall D for passenger convenience.
Envoy Air, a subsidiary of American Airlines, is organizing a shuttle bus with stops at gates D10 and D60 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Passengers requiring wheelchair assistance must make arrangements with the airline in advance of departure.
International travel
For international travel, eligible passengers can use the free secure Mobile Passport Control app to submit passport and customs declaration information using a smartphone or tablet, bypassing paper forms or automated passport control kiosks.
For passengers with disabilities arriving from abroad, there are special lanes for people with disabilities. By filling out a request form on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs 48 hours before arrival, such passengers can ask for special assistance in the queue at the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
Earlier, TravelWise reported that US airlines have changed baggage fees one by one.
