IHG Hotels & Resorts Expands to Montenegro’s Adriatic Coast with Crowne Plaza Budva

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Crowne Plaza Budva, a new addition to its growing European portfolio, in partnership with Uniprom Hoteli d.o.o. The 81-room hotel, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2026, will join more than 110 Crowne Plaza properties across Europe, including upcoming projects in Durres, Albania, and Kolašin, Montenegro.
Crowne Plaza Budva will be located on the Slovenska obala promenade, just 70 metres from the sea. Its position near Budva’s Old Town and City Marina will place guests at the centre of the country’s main tourism hub. Surrounded by parks, restaurants, and landmarks by the sea, the hotel will give guests a comfortable stay that mixes a modern look with the calm atmosphere of the Adriatic coast.
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Uniprom Hoteli d.o.o. to bring our Crowne Plaza brand to Budva – a destination that continues to attract tourists on the Adriatic coast. Budva’s growing appeal reinforces its role as a cornerstone of Montenegro’s tourism industry, making it an ideal location for our premium Crowne Plaza brand.“
Guests will enjoy a restaurant with panoramic sea views, a terrace popular among locals and visitors, and flexible meeting spaces suitable for conferences and events. Designed for today’s traveller, the hotel will combine comfort, convenience, and coastal charm - all within walking distance of the city’s main attractions. This new opening adds to IHG’s presence in Montenegro, joining Regent Porto Montenegro, voco Podgorica, Crowne Plaza Podgorica, and Iberostar Waves Herceg Novi.
The opening will bring Budva closer to international visitors who come for its Old Town, busy marina, and wide beaches. The city also leads to Montenegro’s mountain paths and national parks, giving people more to see beyond the coast. With Crowne Plaza Budva, the Adriatic shore will have another place to stay that suits both holidays and work trips.
The project reflects the growing importance of the Balkans within IHG’s European strategy and highlights Budva’s evolution into a year-round destination. By combining trusted hospitality with a strong local partnership, the hotel is set to raise Montenegro’s profile on the international travel map - offering guests a place that captures the true spirit of the Adriatic.
