Those who are planning to visit Costa Rica in the near future should heed the advice of experienced travelers to make the most out of their trip.

Such advice was given by experienced traveler Vincent Loosasso in his blog. "Costa Rica is an incredible country full of wonderful people, so the odds are in your favor when visiting if your goal is to have a good time. So do your research, plan your trip, be nice to everyone, leave a generous tip, and have a good time," he wrote.

Rent a car and visit more than one place

The main tip is to ditch the bus, rent a vehicle, and visit several different places. Public buses in Costa Rica are great, and you can save money during your vacation by using them, but if you want to get around as quickly and efficiently as possible, rent a small car.

Don't leave anything in the car

"If you are taking my advice and renting a car, please heed this advice. Don't leave anything that is important to you in the car. Nothing ruins a vacation like trying to figure out what to do when you no longer have your passport. Things are stolen from cars, especially near beaches," the blogger wrote.

Be prepared to pay

There are ways to travel cheaply in Costa Rica, but most people are interested in nice air-conditioned rooms and fine dining, especially on vacation. The good news is that there are many nice places to stay and quality restaurants where you will be offered really good food. The bad news is that it won't be cheap. Even going to the grocery store to buy standard quantities of standard quality food is not cheap. If you want a luxury vacation, get ready to pay fancy prices.

Bring insect spray with you

Sunscreen and bug spray are usually crazy expensive there, so bring them with you.

Language

You don't need to speak Spanish to have a good vacation, but it will definitely help you communicate with people while you're here. Plus, you may run into situations where you just don't know what's going on.
