Margaritaville at Sea revealed that its upcoming flagship, the Beachcomber, is scheduled to launch year-round service from Port Miami starting in 2027. The ship will operate 4-8-day itineraries covering the eastern and southern Caribbean. Beachcomber, the fleet’s largest ship, has 15+ passenger areas, upgraded cabins, varied dining, and amenities for long trips. This step marks a strategic growth of the cruise line’s presence in the Caribbean region.

Choosing Port Miami as Beachcomber’s home emphasizes the company’s goal to make travel easier and widen its service offerings. Port Miami is a key U.S. cruise hub. It provides easy connections to airports serving both domestic and international flights. Stationing the ship here allows Margaritaville at Sea to provide longer Caribbean routes, addressing travelers’ rising interest in extended voyages. The decision also positions the line to remain competitive in the regional cruise market.

“Miami-Dade has always been a gateway to the world — welcoming visitors from every corner and sending travelers off to new horizons. With Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber now homeporting at PortMiami, we’re proud to continue that tradition by connecting our community and our guests to even more unforgettable destinations across the Caribbean."
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava

Beachcomber’s itineraries include a mix of culturally and naturally diverse ports, offering a variety of experiences for passengers:

  • St. Maarten (Philipsburg): Colorful streets, Dutch and French cultural influences, scenic beaches.
  • St. Thomas: Natural harbors, reef-lined waters, snorkeling, and marine observation opportunities.
  • San Juan, Puerto Rico: Colonial-era forts, cobblestone streets, and historical landmarks.
  • Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic: Mountains and golden beaches for hiking and leisure.
  • Aruba: Beautiful coastline, soft sandy beaches, and vibrant cultural sites.
  • Bonaire: Marine reserves and natural landscapes.
  • Curaçao: Historic architecture and cultural exploration.
  • Bimini, Bahamas: Island landscapes and natural surroundings.

Every stop on the itinerary has its own unique charm. In San Juan, centuries of colonial history are evident in the architecture and coastal fortifications. St. Maarten, meanwhile, highlights a mix of Dutch and French cultural heritage. St. Thomas is well known for its natural harbors and vibrant marine life, attracting visitors interested in exploring its unique ecosystems. Meanwhile, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao present opportunities to examine cultural legacies shaped by trade and migration, alongside geological and marine environments unique to the southern Caribbean.

The launch of the Beachcomber demonstrates the cruise company's focus on longer and more flexible itineraries in the Caribbean market. For travelers, this provides easier access to several destinations from one port and more chances to enjoy leisure, culture, and nature activities. The size of the ship and its onboard amenities ensure comfortable and exciting voyages. Overall, Beachcomber reflects the evolution of passenger preferences and the cruise company's adaptation to the demand for expanded Caribbean travel options.
