American Airlines became the only airline to connect New York and Tokyo
This summer, travelers traveling between New York and Tokyo will be able to take advantage of a new air service from American Airlines. The service will operate between New York (JFK) and Tokyo Haneda International Airport (HND).
It is noted that this service should complement flights from Japan Airlines, providing passengers with more travel opportunities. This was reported in the American Journal of Transportation.
It is now known that the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) has officially approved the airline's application to become the only American carrier to operate direct flights to the Japanese capital. It is expected that passengers will be able to take advantage of this opportunity this summer starting June 28.
Thus, travelers traveling between JFK and HND will have a choice of up to three daily flights at convenient times throughout the day. It is noted that the new daily American Airlines flight will allow for round-trip flights to more than 30 cities in Japan and East Asia served by Japan Airlines.
Earlier, TravelWise reported that JetBlue Airways offers a helicopter ride from Manhattan to the airport.
