Christmas Market to Open Inside Paderborn/Lippstadt Airport Terminal

The annual "Advent Magic" will be held at Paderborn/Lippstadt Airport on Sunday, November 30, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will take place both inside the terminal and on parking area P1, featuring around 60 market stalls. Organizers are currently seeking exhibitors offering products related to home décor, lifestyle, wellness, travel, and gardening. The market is part of the airport’s seasonal program marking the start of the Advent period.
The program includes a range of stalls, food stands, and family activities designed for visitors of all ages. Food trucks will stand beside local artisans who present unique seasonal crafts and handmade goods. Children can enjoy attractions such as a carousel, face painting, and a bouncy castle. The event is held every year at the airport, drawing both locals and visitors from afar.
Located inside the terminal, the market stays open for visitors during flights and short layovers. Visitors can move freely between the check-in areas and the festive stalls, staying comfortably inside the airport grounds. The event welcomes both travelers and locals to experience regional traditions, enjoy performances, and sample local cuisine. They can also discover artisan creations while continuing their travel plans without interruption. It also gives people who are waiting for flights or meeting arrivals more things to do.
Besides the market, the schedule includes guided tours of the airport and its fire-service facilities. These tours are available for a fee and provide information about daily airport operations, aircraft handling, and safety procedures. According to organizers, the tours are intended for families and visitors interested in aviation. They have been a recurring element of similar events at Paderborn/Lippstadt in recent years.
The event is part of a trend among regional airports to hold community events in addition to their regular operations. These events are designed to bridge transportation services with community life, turning the airport into a friendly and inclusive gathering place for travelers and locals. For travelers, "Advent Magic" is a chance to see local culture in a transportation hub and enjoy a quieter side of flying in the winter.
