Malaysia Airlines will officially resume direct services between Kuala Lumpur and Brisbane starting from 29 November 2025. This long-awaited return reconnects Queensland with Malaysia and provides travelers with a consistent and efficient travel option between Southeast Asia and eastern Australia. Operating five times a week, flight MH135 departs Kuala Lumpur in the evening and reaches Brisbane early the next morning, while the return leg, MH134, departs Brisbane in the morning and lands in Kuala Lumpur later the same day.

Flights on this route will be available every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, offering travellers more flexibility in planning their journeys. Malaysia Airlines is reintroducing its Brisbane route as part of a wider plan to improve air connectivity throughout the Asia-Pacific. The carrier is also set to boost services to major cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Phuket, and Surabaya. By the end of October 2025, some of these routes may run up to 21 times weekly, further expanding travel options across the region. This adjustment represents a meaningful improvement in regional connectivity and travel efficiency.

Bringing back direct flights to Brisbane opens more travel possibilities for those wanting to explore Australia’s diverse attractions. The city acts as a convenient point of entry to places like the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, and the Great Barrier Reef. Brisbane offers an engaging mix of local eateries, cultural institutions, and picturesque riverside paths. With direct flights now available again, it is simpler and faster for travellers from Asia to reach this part of Australia.

The overall expansion of flight routes gives passengers greater freedom to plan multi-stop journeys, increasing flexibility and access across various parts of the region. For instance, enhanced services to Auckland and Trivandrum allow travellers to string together itineraries that combine urban experiences, nature escapes, and cultural exploration without relying on time-consuming stopovers. layovers. Kuala Lumpur’s role as a regional hub enhances this advantage, providing efficient transfers and expanded access throughout ASEAN and Oceania.

Our partnership with Manchester United embodies shared values of excellence and global ambition, while the resumption of Brisbane flights and expanded regional connectivity reinforce our strategic focus on growth. With the introduction of lie-flat Business Class seats on our new Boeing 737-10 aircraft, we are redefining the travel experience for our guests.

The resumption of the Brisbane route and the expanded flight schedule provide travellers with more control over how and when they travel. Whether heading to Australia for a holiday, returning home to see family, or connecting onward to other cities, passengers can expect more convenience and better travel flow. This move signals Malaysia Airlines’ commitment to meeting evolving passenger expectations, focusing on accessible travel, improved connectivity, and regional integration in today’s travel environment.
