Hurricane Milton struck Florida, leaving behind tragic consequences. According to preliminary reports, the storm has caused the deaths of at least eight people, and millions of residents remain without electricity. Streets are flooded, complicating the efforts of rescue teams, who have been working since early morning to evacuate people from the submerged areas.

Rescue teams have been working tirelessly to pull victims from flooded zones. A particularly notable rescue involved a 14-year-old who was found drifting on a section of fence. Hillsborough County officers succeeded in bringing him to safety, marking one of the more significant rescue efforts in recent days. Meanwhile, a man holding onto a cooler was saved by the Coast Guard from the Gulf of Mexico after his boat overturned in the storm's turbulent waters.

Despite bleak predictions, the most heavily populated regions, including Tampa, avoided a direct impact. Scientists feared a potentially devastating storm surge, but it did not reach the anticipated magnitude. Nevertheless, the damage and losses remain significant, especially in coastal areas now submerged under water.

Hurricanes like Milton have a profound effect on tourism in Florida, one of the most popular vacation destinations. With many tourist spots temporarily closed due to flooding, travelers are advised to reconsider their plans and stay updated on weather reports and the situation in the region. It may take several weeks for the infrastructure and daily life in the affected areas to return to normal.
