A Quieter Spanish Coast Is Now Closer to Bologna
Ryanair has launched a new summer 2026 route between Bologna and Castellón. The airline said the service will operate four times a week, adding another Spanish option to its summer programme and giving Italian passengers more choice for low-fare trips during the main holiday season.
The new Bologna–Castellón route forms part of Ryanair’s wider summer 2026 schedule, which is already available to book through the airline’s app. Ryanair said the service will strengthen its existing offer for the season, with Castellón added as a new option for passengers looking for affordable flights to Spain.
Ryanair’s Director of Communications, Jade Kirwan, said the airline was pleased to launch the new route, which carried passengers on its first flight this week. She said the four-weekly service would add more choice to the carrier’s summer 2026 programme and continue its focus on low fares for customers.
The route makes Castellón easier to reach for trips along Spain’s eastern coast. Visitors can explore Castellón de la Plana, the beaches of Benicàssim and Oropesa del Mar, the old town of Peñíscola, and natural areas such as the Columbretes Islands and Desert de les Palmes. The wider Valencia region also becomes easier to combine with a coastal break.
The launch gives Bologna travellers another direct summer option at a time when demand for short Mediterranean trips is high. Castellón is a quieter alternative to Spain’s larger holiday gateways, which may appeal to passengers looking for a simpler coastal break. With four weekly flights, the route should suit both longer stays and flexible summer getaways.
