Top 10 attractive cities for remote work
Berlin-based HR platform WorkMotion analyzed 85 cities around the world. As a result, it became clear which cities are the best for remote workers.
According to the terms of the project, it means living in a certain city for about 1 year or less if you have a remote job. The data from this study can be found on their website WorkMotion.com.
Only a few of the cities that participated in the study offered workers a "digital nomad" visa, just 17 out of 85.
Cities were evaluated in the following categories:
- type of visa required;
- infrastructure for remote work;
- visitor experience;
- security;
- access to healthcare;
- access to housing;
- mobility;
- happiness;
- income tax rate;
- access to food and housing;
One city in this study scored a full 100 points. The other nine countries in the top ten had scores ranging from 90.3 to 99.9.

Barcelona has been ranked first. This city scores highly in terms of housing affordability, diversity of culinary experiences, and positive visitor impressions.
Dubai, an incredible city in the desert, stands out for its unique tax policy, offering a zero income tax rate. In addition, the city has an impressive safety and mobility score of over 95 points.
Prague was ranked third in the ranking and received high marks for the safety and affordability of housing. This city is also noted for its housing amenities.
The data obtained indicate that the majority of remote workers are single representatives of the millennial and Z generations. On average, they spend about 6 months in the host cities performing their work duties.
It is noted that many foreign workers now prefer to work remotely from their hometown.
