Located in the southwest of the country, Arizona, along with Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico, makes up the Four Corners. The capital and largest city of the state is Phoenix.

It is the sixth-largest state in the country. The state has a 389-mile (626-kilometer) border with Mexico. Arizona's climate is characterized by mild winters and high temperatures in the summer. The state was formed as part of the United States on February 14, 1912.
