Italy Gets Four More IHG Hotels

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed four hotels across three Italian locations, taking its open and planned portfolio in the country beyond 50 properties. The projects include two brands sharing one Milan site, plus new hotels in Alberobello and Turin. The move adds IHG rooms in a business district, a major rail hub and one of southern Italy’s best-known heritage areas.
Where IHG’s New Italian Hotels Will Open
- Crowne Plaza Milan NoLo: 167 rooms, opening January 2027
- Staybridge Suites Milan NoLo: 96 apartments, opening January 2027
- Hotel Indigo Apulia Alberobello: 129 rooms, opening in 2028
- Garner Hotel Turin Porta Nuova: 57 rooms, opening mid-2027
- Italy portfolio: 32 open hotels and 20 in development
The Milan signing covers two hotels at one converted NoLo property: Crowne Plaza and Staybridge Suites, 500 metres from Turro metro station. Planned facilities include restaurants and bars, a pool, fitness centre and eight meeting rooms across 1,000 sq m. Hotel Indigo Apulia Alberobello will be a newbuild near the UNESCO-listed trulli houses, while Garner Turin Porta Nuova will occupy a historic building opposite the station.
The openings should make several Italian trips easier to plan. Milan NoLo gives guests metro access to the Duomo, shopping streets, design districts and business areas. Alberobello brings branded accommodation closer to Valle d’Itria towns, trulli villages, Apulian food routes and coastal drives. Turin Porta Nuova is useful for museums, royal palaces, historic cafés and onward rail journeys across Piedmont.
The new hotels are not all aimed at the same trip. Milan suits short city stays and work visits, Alberobello fits slower holidays in Apulia, and Turin works for travellers arriving by rail. Prices and booking dates have not been released, so these properties are worth watching rather than building a fixed itinerary around just yet. Once reservations open, location will be the main selling point.
