Indore's Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport starts accepting e-visas
In a move to make life easier for travellers, Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport will now accept e-visas, a long-standing demand.
"I am pleased to inform you that permission has been granted to accept e-visas at the Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport," BJP Indore Lok Sabha member Shankar Lalwani told reporters, Economic Times reports.
According to him, earlier, people travelling from abroad were not allowed to leave the airport and were sent back due to the inaccessibility of e-visa approval here.
He also said that passengers will be able to use the "Digi Yatra" facility while entering the airport in the coming days.
The Digi Yatra facility provides contactless and seamless movement of passengers at various airport checkpoints using face recognition technology (FRT).
The first direct international flight from Indore was launched to Dubai on July 15, 2019, and since then there has been a demand for e-visa acceptance.
