Honda is building the world's first light private jet that can fly from New York to Los Angeles non-stop
Honda Aircraft Company recently unveiled the name of its latest aircraft, the HondaJet Echelon.
The 11-passenger aircraft, previously called the HondaJet 2600, can cost between $10 million and $12 million, Business Insider reports.
The HondaJet Echelon was originally announced as the HondaJet 2600 at the annual business jet convention in October 2021. The company positions this aircraft as a "mid-size jet in the light jet category".
The Echelon is designed to be about 20% more efficient than traditional light jets and more than 40% more efficient than midsize jets, Honda said.
Honda will offer the Echelon alongside its Elite II light jet. According to Aviation Week, the expected price of the original HondaJet 2600 in 2021 was between 10 and 12 million USD. Honda was unable to confirm the price of the new model to Insider.
The Elite II costs $ 7 million.
What makes the Echelon special is its long-range design that can continuously connect the East and West coasts.
