Wave of strikes in Europe: when to expect disruptions at airports and train stations

This year, a wave of protests and strikes by trade unions and transport workers is spreading across Europe once again. That is why advance booking of flights cannot guarantee timely arrival at the desired destinations.

What should travelers expect, where exactly and when will the protests take place? This was reported by Euronews.

Spain

Strikes in the country have been announced by Renfe drivers, who are members of the Spanish Railway Workers' Union (Semaf). They will demand compliance with the terms of their employment contract, including working hours and a freeze on the employment plan.

Thus, the upcoming strikes will continue: during the day on March 6 with additional walkouts from 7:00 to 10:00, from 13:00 to 16:00 and from 7:00 to 22:00, as well as on March 12 for 24 hours.

France

The CGT-RATP trade union announced a strike by employees of the state-owned transportation company to demand compliance with the wage agreement. This protest has been ongoing since February 5 and is due to end on September 9, provided that an agreement is reached between the parties to the conflict.

It is noted that this 7-month process may well affect the Olympics, which is being held in Paris this year.
