Turkey's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu has announced that the Orient Express, which is adored by people from all over the world, is ready for the new season. Tickets for the train, which takes passengers to the country's most picturesque locations, can be purchased starting on December 11.

Orient Express trains will run from Ankara on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from December 11, 2023 to March 8, 2024, and from Kars on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from December 13, 2023, to March 10, 2024, NTV reports.

The route becomes especially charming in winter when the neighbourhood is covered with snow. Minister Uraloğlu noted that the train can reach many historical and tourist sites from the ruins of Ani in Kars to Lake Çıldır.

This year, they took into account the increased demand for travel during the winter holidays and added additional flights during the New Year and Christmas period. The more travellers use the services of the Orient Express and share their impressions, the more tourists will learn about this route, the Minister of Transport explained and encouraged them to share photos on social media.

The fee for a compartment will range from 6 to 8 thousand liras (165 to 230 pounds) at normal times, and the fee for a room during the peak period will be 12,500 liras (340 pounds). The departure time for the Ankara-Kars direction is scheduled for 15:55, and the departure time for Kars-Ankara starts at 22:20.

The trains consist of 8 sleeping cars and 1 restaurant car. Each car will have 10 compartments with 2 beds in each for the convenience of passengers.
