SAS Expands Flights, Giving Travelers Greater Summer Options

For summer 2026, SAS will increase its flight operations, using Copenhagen as the main hub. Seat capacity from the Danish capital will grow by 20 percent, providing 50 percent more connecting opportunities. The expanded summer schedule will cover more destinations than any previous program and combines frequent business routes with leisure travel options. These changes are designed to give passengers better access, more flexibility, and smoother connections across regional and international routes.

The program emphasizes SAS’ operational reliability over the past year. Key aspects of the summer 2026 expansion include:

  • SAS being ranked among the most punctual carriers in Europe and worldwide over several months
  • Addition of two Airbus A350 aircraft to the fleet
  • Increased flight frequencies on existing routes

The expansion creates new opportunities for travelers to explore landmarks and outdoor attractions. Travelers flying from Copenhagen to Istanbul can explore Hagia Sophia Square, the Galata Bridge district, and the waterfront at the Spice Bazaar. Those traveling to Riga have access to Riga Central Market, the Freedom Monument area, and the riverside promenade along the Daugava. Flights to Marseille open the way to the Old Port, the historic Le Panier district, and the Calanques National Park.

Passengers departing from Stockholm and Oslo will also benefit from expanded connections. Flights from Stockholm to Madrid allow access to Retiro Park, Plaza Mayor, and Gran Via for shopping and city walks. Passengers flying from Oslo to Hamburg can explore the Elbphilharmonie Plaza, Speicherstadt canals, and the Alster lakeside. Increased flight frequencies on these routes help travelers plan multi-leg trips more efficiently, reducing layovers and improving regional and long-haul connections.

The airline’s summer 2026 program gives passengers a broader choice of flights and steadier connections. More aircraft, additional destinations, and increased flight frequencies give passengers greater flexibility when planning their trips.
