Edinburgh's air travel scene is about to get more exciting with the introduction of Pegasus Airlines, offering an incredibly low introductory fare of just £1 to Istanbul. Starting June 27th, this new route will connect Scottish travelers directly to one of Turkey's most vibrant cities, with flights scheduled for Thursdays and Sundays.

To celebrate this new connection, Pegasus Airlines is releasing 2,500 seats at the promotional price of £1, available from May 10th to May 16th. This special offer applies for travel dates extending from the inaugural flight on June 27th until March 29, 2025, marking the end of the IATA winter season.

For those who miss out on the £1 deal, Pegasus is also offering competitively priced one-way fares starting at £49.99. This makes it an excellent time for travelers to plan their autumn or winter getaways to Istanbul, as the promotional fares are predominantly available during these seasons.

What to Expect on Pegasus

Pegasus Airlines, known for its young fleet and budget-friendly options, operates 94 aircraft from the Airbus A320 family, including the advanced A320neo and A321neo models. The airline also has a fleet of Boeing 737-800s, contributing to its reputation for modern and efficient service.

Despite being a low-cost carrier, Pegasus provides relatively generous baggage allowances compared to its competitors. Except for the 'Light' fare, all other ticket tiers include a cabin bag and 20 kg of checked baggage. Additional perks such as pre-booked meals and onboard entertainment are available, enhancing the travel experience without breaking the bank.

Fly & Watch Entertainment

For the four and a half hour journey from Edinburgh to Istanbul, passengers can enjoy the 'Fly&Watch' system. This service allows travelers to stream a variety of entertainment options directly to their personal devices. Pre-booking this feature saves 20%, with costs under £4 for access throughout the flight, ensuring that even those on tighter budgets can enjoy a range of media.

The launch of Pegasus Airlines' new route from Edinburgh to Istanbul not only promises great deals but also enhances the connectivity between Scotland and Turkey. With exceptional fares and a commitment to quality service, Pegasus is set to become a popular choice for travelers seeking a cost-effective way to explore new destinations.
