Hamburg’s New Prague and Seville Flights Have a Weekend Twist
Two European city breaks have become easier to reach from northern Germany, with easyJet launching direct flights from Hamburg to Prague and preparing to add Seville later this week. The routes offer very different weekends: a quick hop to the Czech capital or a longer trip to southern Spain. Both are designed around departures that suit short breaks, although the available travel days matter.
Where and When Are the New Flights Operating?
- Hamburg–Prague: easyJet, launched 26 October 2026. Departures on Mondays at 10.15am and Fridays at 6.40pm. Flight time: approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.
- Hamburg–Seville: easyJet, starts 30 October 2026. Departures on Fridays at 9.20am, with return flights from Seville on Mondays at 5.05pm. Flight time: approximately 3 hours 20 minutes.
- Seasonality: Both feature in the 2026/27 winter schedule; the airport has not specified when the services end.
- Best for: Northern Germany residents planning short city breaks, especially a Friday-to-Monday stay in Seville or a quick Prague weekend without taking an entire week off work.
Both routes are available to book through easyJet's website or travel agents, although fares vary depending on travel dates and baggage choices. Hamburg–Prague also has direct trains taking around six hours, providing an alternative for those who prefer rail travel. Seville previously required a connecting flight or a journey through another airport, so the new service makes a three-night break easier to arrange without changing planes.
In Prague, Charles Bridge, the Old Town and Prague Castle are within reach for a weekend visit; trolleybus 59 links the airport to Metro A at Nádraží Veleslavín, with a 90-minute ticket costing CZK 50. Seville offers the Alcázar, cathedral and Triana, with the EA airport bus connecting arrivals to the city for €6. The new non-stop service avoids an air connection to Andalusia’s capital.
Seville's Friday-out, Monday-back pattern suits a three-night break, but offers little flexibility if plans change. Prague has more departure-day choice, while its direct rail link remains worth comparing once airport transfers are included. easyJet also restarted Geneva flights in September and plans Edinburgh for March 2027, taking Hamburg's network to ten routes. Check baggage costs before booking: only a small under-seat bag (45 × 36 × 20 cm) is included.
